Shining Force EXA is another item in a series of Far Eastern games, combining elements of the cRPG genre and tactics. The cycle started in 1992 on the 16-bit Mega Drive platform, but with the development of technology it was transferred to the PlayStation 2 console. SFE is the third installment of the saga, dedicated to this machine from Sony's stable.

Shining Force Neo tells the story of a teenage knight named Max, who has spent the last two years on gruelling exercises as he prepares himself for the role of an elite warrior. Unfortunately, the idyll does not last forever. Like a thunder from the bright sky, powerful forces of evil appeared, capturing the entire surrounding area. After the first victorious battle, Max was seconded by his master to his hometown of Greensleeves, which is to be the beginning of his path to glory.

"Shining Tears" is a production placed in the world of "Shining Force", but instead of turn-based mode, it offers real time gameplay. Thanks to this, the game gained a more dynamic character and resembles to a large extent hack'n'slash arcade.
