Even though almost 8 years have passed since the release of Hearts of Iron IV, the popular strategy from Paradox can still count on the creators' support. Proof of this commitment is the recently announced Trial of Allegiance DLC.

The expansion, which will be released on March 7 this year, promises to be unusual as it will take players to South America. The DLC will focus on, among others, the period of President Getúlio Vargas's rule in Brazil and his attempts to maintain power. The country will receive a new national goals tree that will allow for the implementation of alternative histories from World War II.

In addition to Brazil, the creators will give players control of Argentina and Chile. Paradox didn't get into details about what the trees will look like, but they did explain the situation of both countries.

According to information on Steam, Argentina is a difficult, politically-oriented challenge due to rampant corruption, revolts and labor unrest. Once players deal with problems in the country, they can shift their focus to international stage, helping the state achieve full potential.

Chile, on the other hand, appears as an energetic republic with radical traditions, which must face national fascist parties, the element of ethnic unrest, and the influence of the United States.

In addition, the extension will add:

  1. two new countries: Paraguay and Uruguay;
  2. new 3D graphics for units of the Brazilian army;
  3. unique illustrations for National focus and units;
  4. six new songs;
  5. Brazilian Portuguese, Argentinian Spanish and Chilean voice lines.

Details about Trial of Allegiance can be found under this link. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the developers have announced they're working on another "big and exciting project" for HoI4, which will be released later this year.

The Trial of Allegiance DLC is available for pre-order on Steam. The add-on costs 9 dollars.
