Emperor Games released the first trailer with gameplay footage from the real-time strategy game Roman Empire Wars.
Emperor Games released the first gameplay trailer of Roman Empire Wars, a strategy game that will allow us to take command of the armies of ancient Rome. The project was announced last year, but after that only a handful of screenshots were made available. Thanks to the trailer we can finally see how the gameplay will look like.
The trailer shows some fragments from a battle and also introduces locations in which we'll fight. The whole things looks promising. The game is to be released exclusively on PC. For now, the creators are not ready to provide a release date.
Roman Empire Wars will focus on the battle aspect rather than empire management. The player will command legions during large-scale battles. The developers focus on historical realism, and the clashes will be inspired by real war campaigns of the most prominent rulers in Roman history.
Battles will be played out in real time. Flanking attacks, exploitation of terrain and morale will be essential factors. The battles are to take place both on land and sea. During the game we will fight in Greece, Carthage, Persia, Egypt and Great Britain.
Thanks to the game's card on Steam we also got to know the system requirements for the PC version.
