The Darwin Project is a third-person Battle Royale-like action game developed by Scavengers. The game takes us to the post-apocalyptic Canada, whose citizens have to face the impending ice age. As a preparation before the cataclysm, incapacitated convicts are ordered to take part in a fight to death in order to find the master of survival. The Darwin Project, just like other similar games, takes place on a big arena where players fight each other until only one of them is left alive.

Set in an open world sandbox survival simulator, a gameplay model reminiscent of ARK: Survival Evolved. The action of Population Zero takes place on a huge, completely alien planet, full of various dangers.
Goat Simulator: GoatZ

The second large expansion to Goat Simulator – the crazy action game with a goat protagonist which parodies the wave of various virtual simulators. This time the developers from Coffee Stain Studios decided to ridicule sandbox survival zombie apocalypse games. The title of the DLC references to MMO game DayZ which for a long time remained in Steam Early Access. Goat Simulator: GoatZ is a purchasable expansion which requires the core version of the game to work.

The core of the gameplay is nearly identical to that known from Infestation (formerly WarZ), while the decision to create a new franchise was caused by a conflict with the current publisher. We begin with creating our own character and travel through a vast and open world, trying to survive against the hordes of the living dead.

The Walking Dead: Road to survival allows you to lead a group of survivors, (which the fans of this universe should be familiar with) who find shelter in the town of Woodbury. It turns out that the leader of this almost idyllic place is the psychopathic Governor, whom you need to fight.

The game's title refers to the cult arcade production Asteroids, but at the same time it focuses on completely different mechanics of play. The action of the game takes place on the border of the solar system, where on the surface of asteroids humanity searches for new deposits of depleting resources.
MiniDayZ

A free fan-made 2D web-based game, later published by Bohemia Interactive. The production was based on the survival game DayZ, which in turn was a full-fledged version of an ArmA II mod. In terms of content and mechanics, MiniDayZ is not much different from the original — the game is set in the zombie-infested Chernarus and you, as one of the survivors, are trying to last as long as your can in the hostile world.

The player is taken to prehistoric times in order to command a tribe of cavemen trying to survive. The gameplay consists of searching for food and basic resources, such as wood or stone, and gathering animal skins. The materials can be used to construct buildings and craft different items.

A science-fiction sandbox action game developed by independent studio BitMonster. In GRAV the players are tasked with exploring alien planets, gathering resources required for surviving and fighting aliens and examples of local fauna. The surface of planets is generated procedurally by a special system that makes sure they are filled with plants, animals and various biomes – from skyscraping mountaintops to underground caves.

The action of Wild Wastes takes place in modern times, in a small American town called Earlsboro, infested with bandits, aliens, and other bloodthirsty monsters known as negatives. Our task is to stay alive for a week. The action is seen from a top-down camera view, while the combat system, heavily inspired by old-school shooters, is rather arcade in nature.

The game takes place on closed maps, where brutal competitions are held, in which the participants' lives are at stake. The goal of every player is to survive and eliminate the competition. Our objective is to survive in the harsh conditions and find a way to escape, meaning that survival aspect plays a main role in the game. We are threatened not only by undead, but also more mundane nuisances, like hunger and diseases. Gameplay focuses on looking for food, medicines, and useful items.
