The development and management of the state is like an economic strategy, while the fulfilment of tasks resembles the typical positions of the RPGs.

The player directs the actions of a lonely soldier who tries to survive 30 days in a world dominated by zombies. The game consists in defending one's own base against the attacks of living corpses and exploring the terrain in search of weapons, materials for building fortifications and surviving people.

The player takes on the role of mercenary Emmett Graves, who takes on the role of his brother's commanded group of Outcasts. Contrary to the previous version of the cycle, developers from LightBox Interactive studio decided to develop a single-player option, but without giving up the spectacular multiplayer mode, designed for up to 32 participants.
