The production, developed by Halfbrick Studios, was released for the next generation of Microsoft consoles and utilizes the much more advanced Kinect 2.0. The mechanics, however, remained unchanged. The gameplay consists of cutting through the fruits appearing on screen by using the right moves, which are transferred via Kinect to your TV screen.

FRU is a simple platformer developed by Thorough Games studio with Kinect move controller in mind. The players lead a small, mustached protagonist through around a dozen of diverse levels, located in several different worlds. The point of the game is that the world needs to be discovered by means of actual gestures of the player, directed to the console via the Kinect controller. By assuming the right body position, the player's "shadow" establishes a path which the protagonist follows.
