As announced Xbox Partner Preview showcased the launch trailer Alan Wake 2. You can get acquainted with this dark and laced with atmospheric music trailer below.

The released footage - which shows some actual gameplay - first of all enables us to get better acquainted with the two playable characters, i.e. the titular Alan Wake and FBI agent Saga Anderson.

Their fates intertwine as they uncover the mysteries of the small American town of Bright Falls and its surrounding area, where phenomena that defy common sense occur.

What catches the eye in the video in question is the constantly recurring theme of the title character's madness. Apparently, Alan, unlike the agent investigating the murders, wants at all costs to leave the nightmare, the source of which seems to be a town bathed in darkness.

Of course, this oneiric and secret-filled area has also become home to terrifying humanoid creatures, which will force our protagonists to reach for weapons and... a flashlight, which, like in the original, will effectively weaken the adversaries.

At this point it is worth mentioning that, according to the developers, combat in Alan Wake 2 is to be much more challenging than what Remedy served the players in 2010 in the first part. The studio's inspiration in this area turned out to be another representative of the survival horror genre - the Resident Evil series (or more precisely, its latest third-person installments).

Premiere of Alan Wake 2 will take place on October 27. The game will hit PC as well as Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Today we should see the first reviews of Remedy Entertainment's latest work.
