Cyberpunk 2077 Launches; Tons of Player Feedback
The launch of Cyberpunk 2077, the most awaited game of the year, became a fact. The title achieves incredible results on Steam and Twitch, despite the fact that many players complain about its technical condition.
More than eight years after the announcement, Cyberpunk 2077, the latest work byo CD Projekt RED, made its debut on the market . The game was released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and in the streaming service Google Stadia. Thanks to its backwards compatibility, the title can also be played on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Next year, next-gens will receive dedicated versions, which will be available as a free upgrade for owners of old-gen releases.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the most important release of this year, so expectations were huge. The reception of the game for now is generally positive. On Steam it already has over 17,000 user ratings and 71% of them are positive. On GOG.com, on the other hand, the player reviews are already twenty four pages long and the average is 3.7/5.
These results are quite low for what some may have expected of the game (or maybe because of that) and the reason for this are numerous glitches and bugs. Even with the day 1 update the game leaves a lot to be desired in terms of technical refinement. Most of the negative user reviews focus on this aspect, while praising other elements of Cyberpunk 2077, such as gameplay mechanics, graphics and storyline.
Many people declare that for now they will give up the game and wait for more patches to remove the most serious problems. Nevertheless, it seems that most of the players have decided to bite the bullet and face the shortcomings. Cyberpunk 2077's current activity record on Steam alone is over a million users playing at the same time. This is the highest result achieved by a single-leplayer game ever. So far the leader was Terraria with 489 thousand players.
CP2077 also became white hot on Twitch. At its peak, transmissions from this game were followed by 1.1 million people. This is the sixth highest score in history. Only some multiplayer hits (Fortnite, League of Legends, Valorant, CS:GO and World of Warcraft) can boast better results.
Cyberpunk 2077 was also warmly received by industry media. The PC version has an average rating of 91% on Metacritic. The game was also appreciated by our editor, who gave it 9.0/10.
