Supermarket Simulator, a new small hit on Steam, is getting more and more popular. The title attracted thousands of players, and it seems that it is not the end, as the number of gamers is growing everyday. Right now, it is solely a single player experience, but many fans are wondering if the title will get a multiplayer mode at some point. Let’s talk about it.

Supermarket Simulator – Multiplayer and Coop Explained

The demand for coop in Supermarket Simulator is one of the most common questions on Discord or Steam. Many players would like to invite friends to their shops. However, as of now, Nokta Games does not have multiplayer in plans. We can read that on the official Discord channel.

We don't have multiplayer support in our plans but we'll see where the game goes.

Maybe in future

As we can learn from the post on the Steam forum, Supermarket Simulator is a work of only one developer. At this moment, the creator is fully engaged in updating and fixing the game. According to information on Steam, we should expect the 1.0 version within 12 months. Of course, everything can change.

Very often, to create a proper multiplayer mode, it is necessary to think about it on the project phase. Even big studios have problems with such features, let alone indie developers. As in the case of console ports, creating coop can be too much for a single developer. Of course, it is not impossible. As of now, we have to wait and hope that at some point the plan will change.
