Addition Edition is a mod for Dead Island, created by Xeper8x8.

This is NOT a mod for DIDE, rather a mod for the original 2011 Dead Island

Description (in author’s own words)

* I've modded almost every aspect of this game. From gameplay changes to new weapons.*

General game play changes:

• Player starts off at level 60 with all skill points availaible. Which means there are no levels. I have it this way for a reason.

• All Enemies are also level 60 and will always match your level, never being higher or lower.

• Quests rewards are more...rewarding lol. Instead of getting money for alot of quests, you get weapons mostly, though you still can get money (and alot of money i might add).

• Jareds Quest (breaking into gun shop quest) and random survivor (the dude you encounter in the alley, right after Jared) have been moved to chapter VI, after fire hydrant quest has been done.

• Nikolai's quest "A Voice From Above The Sky" has been fixed and now offers a reward.

• Diamonds are also another constant quest reward. You'll see why once you get certain craftplans.

• Stamina is gone. Nothing will cause you to tire. Always found that annoying.

• All looted items, weapons/craft parts etc, are all orange. Ill explain why later.

• 500 Backpack slots.

• More money can be looted now.

• No death penalty.

• All weapons are already upgraded when found.

• New Craftpart items include: Aluminium Foil, Blade Sharpener, Capacitor, Small Transistor, Large Transistor, Tesla Coil, Transformer, Tesla Transformer, Insulating Foil, Lithium Ion Battery, High Voltage Lithium Battery, XL10 Battery, XL50 Battery, Plutonium Alloy, Uranium Alloy, Thorium Alloy, Polonium 210, Super Conductor, Semi Conductor, Tesla Rod, Copper Wire, Metal Wire. All are used for mod plans.

• Every craftpart is lootable almost everywhere (Except weapon chests). The radioactive elements i added (uranium, plutonium alloy etc) can only be found on Suiciders, anywhere in the lab, anywhere in the catacombs, and anywhere in the sewers.

• Dead bodies, killed enemies, bags, wardrobes basically anything lootable will never be empty.

• Skills have been changed to useful ones. Every hero has almost the same set of skills though every heroes Fury tier 0 and 4 could not be changed. Also I replaced alot of the fury skills with more useful skills from other heroes since i always found fury to be boring. You still have fury just not all of the additional skills it comes with.

• Skills that have been altered: The Elemental Duration skill upgrade 3 makes duration infinite. The Weapon durability upgrade 3 has been altered to make the weapon gain durability, so the more you hit, the more your weapon gets fixed lol. Medkit skill 3: medkits are 100% more effective. Never intterupted while hitting.

• All item colors each have a 50% chance of showing up in any lootable thing. (if using all colors files)

• Walkers can no longer grab you. I swear that shit was one of the most annoying game mechanics ive ever encountered.

• Most of the Scientists in the lab act offer the exclusive craftplans as rewards ex: Bob the scientist offers the Poison Bomb Blueprint for rescuing Jerry.

• Certain enemies can now be killed in ways they couldnt before, Ex: You can now hit Rams with Impact mods. Floaters can now be poisoned and be lit on fire.

• Did away with the annoying weapon prefix names. Like "Weak" Baseball bat, "Lightening fast" Auto Rifle etc. Thought that was always dumb. Every weapon has just the bare name now.

• Super Infecteds (the larger infecteds from Riptide) have been added. Sometimes carrying weapons.

• New human boses: Snake Eyes (First Matutero quest Boss) and Jon Rambo (Ryder Whites Lieutenant).

• Thugs and Super Infecteds can carry weapons and use them to attack. These bosses are larger in size and have more health.

• Rams are increased in size with the first ram being the largest and more resiliant.

• Banoi Excerpt # 25 can now be obtained as a quest reward.

• Every type of explosive, and every legendary and weapon can be looted from all chests, bags (only small weapons like knuckles, knives etc), safes (same weapons as bag), dead bodies and wardrobes, though chests are exclusive to the previous mentioned items. Trash cans, fridges and electronics only contain craftparts. Though weapons are not as common as craftparts and money when looted in wardrobes, bags etc.

• Some Shop keeps now have dialog. Just alittle nice tidbit i thought i'd add, seeing as I found the dialog file.

• All of the new weapons have been added to shops with all of the other new things except craftplans. Couldnt get that to work though in Riptide it did. No clue as to why.

• More legendaries have been used for quest rewards.

General weapon changes:

• Crowd Pleaser is now an automatic.

• Firearms now have no sway. Swaying when you go into aim mode the gun used move back and forth slightly. Now its completely still.

• Swing speed of the following vanilla weapons have been changed (faster swing speed): Zeds Demise, Gabriels Sledgehammer, Viking of the South, Assasins Greed.

• ROF has been changed for the Defender of the Motherland making it shoot faster.

• Shovel, Hatstand, Chainsaw, Piper and Frying pan all now have orange color and legendaries and are higher than white in stats and can now be looted from chests, wardrobes etc.

• Changed Pick Axe to sharp so that it impales and cuts off limbs.

• Weapons have higher durability and some deal more physcis damage.

New weapons/Changed weapon names/Weapon swtiches/Removals:

• New weapon: Bladed Brass Knuckles (Rending claws skin but without the mod). Also has sharp capabilities with machete sound effects.

• New weapon: Bronze Brass Knuckles

• New weapon: Ruger Rifle. (Slower fire rate and different variation of the AK47 without stock)

• New weapon: SPAS-12. (Automatic, though slower then Crowd Pleaser)

• New weapon: MP5 Machine Gun. (Very low damage but very high ROF and high magazine size)

• 4 new "Super Weapons" : (Also catagorized as legendaries)

• The Terminator (Super Desert Eagle but is automatic and high ROF)

• Megalodon (Super M16 but very very high ROF, almost minigun like but with lower damage than vanilla M16 or Viper)

• Xepher 8x8 (Super M4 but one shots almost all enemies, except most bosses (excluding Suiciders), and has high force/physics damage)

• Quick Draw (Super Magnum but is automatic, though with low ROF, and spread shots like a shotgun)

• New Explosives! EMP Bomb, Uranium Bomb, Pathogen Bomb, Coma Bomb and Nuclear Bomb. All are extremely potent versions of the Shock Bomb, Poison Bomb, Bleed Bomb, Stun Bomb and Grenade.

• Changed Brass knuckles name to Iron Brass Knuckles.

• Changed Light Brass knuckles name to Brass Knuckles since those are actually basic brass knuckles.

• Changed Badass brass knuckles name to Steel Brass Knuckles.

• Changed Exotic brass knuckles name to Sabre Brass Knuckles. Also has sharp capabilities with knife sound effects.

• Changed Brutal brass knuckles name to Thorned Brass Knuckles.

• Changed Heavy brass knuckles name to Combat Brass Knuckles.

• Changed Exotic Mace name to Tribal Mace.

• Changed Battle Double Blade name to Tactical Double Blade.

• Changed Exotic Double Blade name to Oriental Double Blade.

• Changed Wicked Knife name to Fighting Knife

• Changed Brutal Machete name to Bush Machete.

• Changed Exotic Cane Knife name to Cane Machete.

• Changed Kukri name to Kukri Machete.

• Changed Military Knife name to Hunting Knife.

• Changed Hammer name to Carpenter Hammer.

• Changed Heavy Hammer name to Forge Hammer.

• Changed Wrench name to Mechanic Wrench.

• Changed Auto Rifle name to AK47 Rifle. Has different firing sound.

• Changed Burst Rifle name to M16 Rifle. Now automatic with faster firing rate. But less damage than AK47.

• Changed Single Shot Rifle name to M4 Rifle. Still fires siingle shot but deals alot more damage than Ak47 and M16.

• Changed Heavy Morning Star name to Morning Star.

• Changed Viking of the South to legendary Battle Axe instead of Fire Axe since the battle axe is more viking like to me.

• Changed Eviscerator to legendary Tanto since when you eviscerate something you generally use a smaller knife. Also made the swing speed makes it the fastest knife in game.

• Removed Wicked Double Blade.

• Removed Homemade Cleaver.

• Removed Homemade Knife.

• Removed Homemade Machete.

• Removed Cane Knife.

• Removed Sugar Cane Knife.

• Removed Burst Rifle (replaced with M16 that shoots like M16)

• Removed Brutal Sickle.

• Removed Wicked Sickle.

• Removed Exotic Sickle.

• Removed Stick as weapon.

• Removed Banisher as the Legendary Hatchet.

• Removed the Wooden Moring Star.

*All of the removed weapons are still in the directory, so if youd like to add them back, be my guest. You'll have to mod them the way the other weapons are and change the name of the weapon in text file located in the DataEn Winrar*

* I only chose to make certain weapons I liked or unique looking as legendaries. Like, im not gonna make the homemade machete or any of that other homemade crap into ledgendaries since they sucked as weapons anyway*

General Craftplan changes:

• Every weapon mod has 100% chance of working. Never understood the whole critical chance thing.

• Most weapon mods are now very limited to 1 weapon, Ex: Impact mod can only be used on the Metal Baseball Bat, Shock can only be used on the machete etc. Only the gun weapon mods have multiple weapons to choose from. I have it that way because its less messy.

• The Tesla mod damage level has been changed to x5 while Heavy Duty has been changed to x4. Always felt that the Tesla was superior. Deathstalker mod, Phoenix mod and Ripper mod have been changed to level 5's as well.

• Almost all unattainable weapon mods (Slash mod, Taser mod, some of the patch addons, some exlusives and most of the new mods i added etc) are now attainable by completing quests.

• All of the original Developer mods (Left hand of Glova, Mindblowing Knife etc) have been changed to my own craftplans. None of the previous Developer mods exist, so sorry if your favorite mod is gone. They sucked anyway. Mine are SOOO much better dude.

• The Dev-Crafts have been replaced with "Abilities" which will be discussed later on.

• Most of the patch addon mods have been replaced with my own weapon mods as well. Only Heavy Duty and Juggernaut Gauntlets have been kept and are generally the same.

• The Assassins Poison mod name has been changed to Black Widow mod. Same concept as Assassins Poison but with all of the Brass Knuckles needed and dealing x4 poison damage. So it was kind of kept as well, but named changed.

• The Bluntly Shocked mod is now renamed Electrocutioner mod.

• The Shredder mod is now a x5 Bleeding mod but with all of the brass knuckles combined instead of a bat mod. All combined to create "The Shredder" Gauntlet.

• The Juggernaut Ganuntlets Mod now only requires Bronze Brass Knuckles and are just called Juggernaut Gauntlets when created. Shredder has the same name and bleed effect, but different type of weapon.

• Most craftplans will give either an extra suffix Ex: Ripping Baseball Bat, Slasher Baseball bat etc, while others will give the weapon a completely different name ex: Deathstalker mod makes a weapon called Deathstalker Blade.

• Got rid of the Ammo blueprints. Found them useless tbh.

New Craftplans:

• Edison Mod - Shitty impact mod thats meant to be a joke as it does 0 impact damage and is a crack at how Thomas Edison sucked at electrical stuff lol.

• Negan Mod - Lucille with poison mod, just like on the comic/show.

• Body Builder Mod - My attempt at trying to make the Gabriels Sledgehammer make enemies fly back without having an impact mod, but apparenlty the physics dont work right in this game so its not doing as intended, so i made it so that it one shots everything with more force/phyiscs damage.

• Samurai Jack Mod - This mod turns the Zed's Demise into the deadliest sword in the game. One shots any enemy.

• Berserker Mod - This mod turns the Viking of the South into the deadliest axe in the game. One shots any enemy.

• Defense Force Mod - This mod turns the Defender of the Motherland into the deadliest rifle in the game. One shots any enemy with cool effect. No longer automatic as you only need one shot.

• Thunderstorm Mod - This mod turns the Crowd Pleaser into the deadliest shotgun in the game. One shots any enemy with cool shot effect. No longer automatic as you only need one shot.

• Silver Bullet Mod - This mod turns the MCcal's 9Mm into the deadliest pistol in the game. One shots any enemy with silencer sound effect.

• Dante's Inferno Mod - Gives the Scythe the ability to wield waves of flame at enemies.

• Nuclear Bomb Blueprint - Creates Nuclear Bomb

• Uranium Bomb Blueprint - Creates Uranium Bomb

• EMP Bomb Blueprint - Creates EMP Bomb

• Pathogen Bomb Blueprint - Creates Pathrogen Bomb

• Coma Bomb Blueprint - Creates Coma Bomb

• Bleeding Weapons Mod - Gives spiked/sharp weapons (mace, morning star, spiked brass knuckles etc) the ability to cause bleeding damage. Cost is $0 and no required craft parts. Just have a spiked/sharp weapon.

• Cowboy From Hell Mod - Gives the Quickdraw fire damage.

The Abilities:

*Most of these replaced the Dev mods and some Patch Addon mods*

• Shockwave Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but better impact damage with no stamina usage and you dont have too "repair". Like seriously, how TF do u repair a hand? The same "no repair" policy goes for all the abilities.

• Vampire Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with bleeding damage.

• Abracadabra Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with shock damage.

• Radiation Therapy Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with poison damage.

• Sonic Boom Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with brain blast damage.

• Flamethrower Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with fire damage.

• The Sandman Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but stuns enemy.

• Annihilation By The Hands of God Ability - Left Hand of Glova, but with explosive damage.

• Superman - Gives fists one shot attack and more force and physics damage.

• Zeus - A more pungent version of the Shockwave ability. More range and impact damage.

• Hades - A more pungent version of the Flamethrower ability. More range and fire damage.

• Thor - A more pungent version of the Abracadabra ability. More range and shock damage.

• Dracula - A more pungent version of the Vampire ability. More range and bleeding damage.

• Reaper - A more pungent version of the Radiation Therapy ability. More range and poison damage.

*Almost all of these abilities require a hefty amount of diamonds to make. There are plenty of diamonds as quest rewards, so dont worry. And you can also buy diamonds from shops*

*Thats all the features i can think of off the top of my head. There may be more seeing as this was a long ass process i started back in Sept. Hope yall enjoy.*

Other info/Known Glitches:

• Everything looted is orange because its the highest color and seems to increase the price of everything. And it just looks better impo.

• Some weapon mods will have a value of $0. Not that it changes anything the weapons can do. Theyre just worthless monetarily. Idk how to change that.

• When you get weapons from shops, theyll say level 60. Not that it matters any, itll have the same stats as when you find the weapon in a chest, it just lacks a level.

• It is not reccommended to use this mod with DISE as alot of the weapon code names have been altered and the new weapons/mods/craft parts are not in DISE's memory.

• It is also reccommended to use this mod with the developer menu, as the developer menu can do almost anything DISE can and its literally from a click of a button and its easy to use.

• I HAVE NOT tested this mod online/co-op or anything that has to do with online in general, nor do i have any intention to do so. Maybe it works? idk and idc. BUT! If you want to figure all of that out yourself, feel free.

Installation:

0 - REMINDER! Always, Always ALWAYS back up your original files. Cant tell you how many times I had to re-download the whole game or google a file that i fucked up on while modding. Had to do that while doing this mod at least twice! Idc who you claim you are, its inevitable to fuck up on something, especially with this game. Doesnt take that long to back up. Just put the original files in the games directory.

1 - (After you've hopefully backed up the original files into your games director) In the WinRAR this mod came in, open folder DI. Exract Data.En (or copy drag and drop) into Dead Island\DI. Replace old Data.En.

2 - Now in the WinRAR, open Data folder and either drag and drop or extract all files to Dead Island\DI\out\Data. *If there is no Data folder in the out folder, then create one*

3 (Optional-ish) - There are two WinRARS within the Data folder. "All Orange Objects" and "All Colored Objects". I have that because the "All Orange Objects" files are more diverse with object looting than the All Colored Objects files. For some reason if you use all colored youll get a more of a chance of getting more certain items than others when looting. Idky that is, i worked hard to make it as diverse with looting objects as possible though. This is especially occuring with the craft parts. You'll be getting alot of Glues lol. Anyway, the game is default all Orange objects, so if u want colored objects, just copy and paste everything from that WinRAR and paste them over. Vice Versa for Orange if you change your mind again.

4 (Also Optional) - In your Dead Island installation folder, BACK UP the file "game_x86_rwdi.dll.". After you've hopefully backed up that file, replace that file with the "game_x86_rwdi.dll." in the "Developer Menu" folder from the mod WinRAR. * It is recommended to play this mod with the developer menu. Its not necessary at all for functionality, but it makes the gaming easier instead of using DISE (Which wont work well with this mod with all of the changes, unless you know the codes of the in game items) or other save editors. All you do is press esc and youll see the menu on the bottom of the vanilla menu. *Warning! In the developer menu's "Cheat Menu", on the middle column, DONT switch character in the "character select" option, you'll fuck up everything you did with the orignal character you've selected and i mean EVERYTHING. So be careful.
