Quest fixes is a mod for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cuts, created by FissileCore.

Description:

This mod aims to fix inconsistencies in quest count at the end of some chapters in the game.

For the most part these fixes are intended for chapter summaries which often either include quests that shouldn't be there or completely miss some. Though the game files provide decent potential for modding quests, for the hidden content it's a different story, as it seems to be baked in executable. Some fixes will only work after restarting the chapter. Just put all of the files inside your game's folder.

What's fixed:

- Chapter 1

16/17 quests. The last quest of this chapter "Travel to Borgova" finishes after the chapter ends so the summary is always short on one. I've set the end of the chapter after entering Dreadworks, not after killing the Drill Worm.

- Chapter 4

26/29 quests. Removed two technical quests from the count and enabled side quest "Troubles of the first line" that was marked as hidden for some reason.

- Chapter 5

Tower Defense mission "Caverns of Steel" moved to chapter 6. Triggers after you receive the quest to defeat Harker.

Reworked the "Ornithopter Control Tower" quest. Previously only begins after all the resistance soldiers around the tower have been killed. Now after you receive a radio message to defend the base the quest will start and the enemies will immediately spawn.

Frozen goldfish now disappears from inventory after thawing.

- Chapter 6

Fixed incorrect reference for the Ring of Guidance hidden content text at the end of the chapter.

Made a workaround for chimera hidden content. After you get the quest to find Harker from Commander Petrov at the start of the chapter go straight to your chimera to find a "stinky surprise". It will disappear after changing locations or exiting the game. If you missed it, use the optional file to spawn a permanent "chest" and walk close to it to get the secret. To remove the pile, restore the original terep_Lair from the main file.

- Chapter 7

6/7 quests. The "Rusty Heart" quest is only available if you chose to kill a sick person during "Rustblight" but it automatically fails the latter. Removed it from the count.

- Chapter 8

14/16 quests. Removed one technical quest from the count. The last one is a broken side quest called "Strange inmates". Restored required NPCs that were removed in Final Cut. It becomes available after "Something is terribly wrong here..." dialog in Haunted Forest (as intended by developers). In the prison area of the Lair I've restored only a few background characters (you can talk with some of them after the quest begins) but ignored all of the non-interactable resistance soldiers.

- Chapter 9

10/11 quests. The last side quest of the chapter "Hidden Pathways" starts only after the main quest is finished. I've set the end of the chapter after entering Spectral Provinces.

- Chapter 11

Fixed Commander Petrov not being marked after receiving the radio call for the last resistance missions.

Can't be fixed:

Some dialog lines never complete in the final battle opening cutscene in chapter 6.

The dialog when approaching a scarecrow in chapter 6 always interrupts. If you pause the game you can still listen to it all.

Only the option of offering Woody food in chapter 4 counts as hidden content in Final Cut.
