The Fourth Edition, a somewhat niche and definitely a dedicated venue for role-playing game series Avernum, developed by studio Spiderweb Software. Again brings us to the fantasy universe divided into two radically different worlds: underground, called the Roll and the surface under the wladaniem Empire. How to easily deduce from the title, the game almost entirely underground dedicated to the land, consisting of hundreds of kilometres of tunnels and caverns. Its inhabitants are divided into several groups: some came here to escape the law of Empire, others by mines extract rare micro, and still others have chosen to track the monsters and beasts for the collected treasures.

In this installment, once again, we are going to Roll, to save it from a huge danger. Wild and powerful creatures, often protected by powerful magic, began to wypelzac from the deepest abyss and haunt the human settlements. Everywhere, the chaos and confusion, and niegdysiejsi calm citizens became suspicious and very aggressive against each other. Nobody knows what happened to cause the above events, prompting monsters and people to such behaviour. Of course, none other than, as the player must solve the mystery.
