WASD is a mod for Baldur’s Gate 3, created by Ch4nKyy.

Description:

Enables direct character movement with WASD keys (or others)!

Features

1. Directly move your character with the WASD keys (or others). This makes the game a lot more immersive!
2. Toggle between character movement and camera movement with Caps Lock (currently requires the optional AHK script)
3. Auto-run with Shift+W (currently requires the optional AHK script)
4. Toggle between sprinting and walking (coming soon)
5. Automatically toggle mode on combat start and end (coming soon)

Combined with the mod Native Camera Tweaks, the controls will feel like a modern RPG and extremely immersive!

Supports both Vulkan and DX11

Works in multiplayer, even if the other players don't have it

Installation

1. Download NativeModLoader, extract the zip, and put both bink2w64.dll and bink2w64_original.dll in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin\

When Windows prompts whether you want to overwrite the existing files, say yes.

2. Download this mod and extract the zip.

3. Put inputconfig_p1.json in

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\

Warning: This overwrites any custom hotkeys you set. If you want instructions that preserve your hotkeys, but are a bit more complicated, see the below chapter "Editing inputconfig_p1.json".

This config will put WASD on character movement and Arrow Keys on camera movement

To find this folder, press Win+R and paste %localappdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\

4. Put BG3WASD.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin\NativeMods\

If the NativeMods folder does not exist, create it.

5. Optionally, but recommended:

Install AutoHotKey v1.1 (I think v2.0 will not work.)

In-game, bind camera controls to only arrow keys, not WASD!

Every time you play the game, run WASD_Toggle.ahk as administrator by right clicking it. You see if it is running in the tray menu, bottom right.

It does not matter where you put this file.

If you have an AZERTY keyboard, run WASD_Toggle_AZERTY.ahk instead!
