Hotmod 1968 is a mod for Call to Arms, created by Zverofaust Productions.

Description (in authors’ own words):

old War Turned HOT aka HOTmod 1968 is a stupidly ambitious project to overhaul MOWAS2: Cold War into a more realistic and more enjoyable game. This isn't some silly jungle expedition on the other side of the planet, this is Europe. You aren't fighting pajama-wearing old men and young kids armed with hunting rifles. This conflict pits the most powerful military in human history against the second most powerful military in human history - and this war will decide which is which.

So far, with a ton of support from the community, old friends, new friends and viewers like you, we've done quite a bit. We've added 20 new vehicles and heavy weapons, completely re-written infantry design, and introduced tons of strategic and tactical depth the game was sorely lacking. Phase I, redesigning and rebalancing infantry and heavy weapons, is pretty much done, and we're well into Phase II, introducing new vehicles.

To be specific, we've added:

- Greatly expanded Infantry choices with lots of new squads - Air Cavalry, Armored Cavalry, Guards, VDV, and Special Forces;

- New infantry weapons: XM177 and XM177E2, XM148, M79, M72 LAW, M67 MAW, China Lake grenade launcher, AKMS, silenced AKMS, RPG-7, RPK;

- M2HB and DshK heavy MG tripods;

- M29 and BM-37 medium mortars, and M30 and PM-43 heavy mortars;

- ZPU-2 and M55 Quadmount light AA;

- T-12 anti-tank gun and M40 recoilless gun;

- MGM-32A (ENTAC) and 9M14 Malyutka (AT-3 Sagger) ATGMs;

- M151 MUTT with M2HB, M40 and unarmed versions;

- BRDM-1 and BRDM-2 scout cars and XM706E1 patrol car;

- BTR-60PB turreted APC and M113 ACAV (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle);

- M42 Duster and ZSU-23-4 Shilka SPAAGs;

- M50 Ontos 6-gun tank destroyer and BRDM-9P110 ATGM tank destroyer;

And there's more to come -- MANPADS & AA missiles, ASU-57 and -85, M56 Scorpion, M114 Recon carrier, M551 Sheridan, and probably more!

The next phase, Phase III, will be the hardest yet - introducing entirely new factions. The first will be the United Kingdom, with its Centurions and Conquerors and Chieftains. After that, if we ever get that far, we have clandestine plans for France, East & West Germany, Czechoslovakia and, last but not least, China in its own Alliance.

To install:

Simply unpack the .zip file to your Call to Arms/mods/ folder, then activate it from the "Workshop" tab on the Home screen ingame
