Castlevania - Vampire Hunters is a fan made action platformer game, made on OpenBor engine, based on original Castlevania game called Acumajou Dracula X, including Castlevania Symphony of the Night.

The plot of this game is simple. After many years Dracula has returned, and so now you need to kick his butt back to where he came from. And that's it. That is the whole plot.

And the gameplay... Well, the gameplay is literally SICK! This is not your regular beat'em up on OpenBor engine. Is is straight up a action platformer game. All tho, there is not that much of a platforms to jump on, so most of the time, you will be running around and killing monsters with your chain or sword. It depends on who you play as. And yes, there is two playable characters in this game: Richter and Alucard. Both have their own moves and abilities. And it also means that you can play in 2 players mode in this game. Just start the game, and later player 2 needs to press start to join the game.

You will visit many different and interesting locations in this game, defeat many angry monsters and you will fight with many known Castlevania bosses. But, as many games on OpenBor engine, this one is not perfect too, despite been one of the coolest games on this engine. And the problem is in difficulty and how less continues this game gives to you.

You start with 3 lives and 2 continues. And if you waste them, then it is Game Over. Which means, that you have to start all over again. Sure, there is a autosave feature, and you can load you save file, but you still gonna need to start the level, where you lost, from the begining. Also, the loading in this game, when you launch it, takes like up to 1 minute, so you have to wait until it loads fully.

Anyway, in conclusion, this is one of the best games on OpenBor engine that you need to try out. Especially if you a Castlevania fan. And trust me, this game is worth to play. All tho, the difficulty and not enough continues, might stop you from trying to play it all over again if you lose.
