Resolution and dgVoodoo2 compatibility Fix is a mod for Eragon, created by snaplap625.
Description:
Fixes Eragon’s broken resolution selection and improves compatibility with Direct3D 9 wrappers such as dgVoodoo2.
The original game has two issues on modern systems:
The game explicitly loads the system copy of d3d9.dll, which prevents local Direct3D 9 wrappers such as dgVoodoo2 from being used normally.
The resolution enumeration code can overflow its internal resolution table, causing corrupted resolution text and making the resolution option unusable.
This patched executable fixes both issues and provides a clean set of modern resolutions:
The dgVoodoo2-compatible version also changes the game to load d3d9.dll from the game directory, allowing dgVoodoo2 and other local D3D9 wrappers to work correctly.
Installation:
Back up the original Eragon.exe.
Place the patched executable in the game folder.
Rename it to Eragon.exe if required.
For dgVoodoo2, place the 32-bit D3D9.dll from dgVoodoo2 in the same folder.
For native high-resolution rendering with dgVoodoo2, it is recommended to let Eragon control the resolution rather than forcing one through dgVoodoo2.
