Far Cry 2 - Game Mod - Dans Far Cry 2 Blood and Gore Mod v.1.1 - Download

Dans Far Cry 2 Blood and Gore Mod is a mod for Far Cry 2, created by Zdanman.

Info:

Blood Mod increases persistence of bullet holes decals on bodies to 20 seconds as well as increases size of blood spurts by 150% or 200% respectively.

Installation:

This mod has been package in a way that does not conflict with any other mods such as Dylans Realism, etc... You can use this procedure to modify files and make your own mods as well

1. Install this mod AFTER all other mods.

2. First things first, let us BACK UP your existing files.

Navigate to your Far Cry 2 "Data_Win32" folder and...

BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL PATCH.DAT AND PATCH.FAT!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU MESS UP YOUR GAME AND FORGOT TO BACKUP THE PATCH FILES.

For Steam users it will be under Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/(either Common or "Your Steam Name")/farcry2/Data_win32

IMPORTANT NOTE - If you decide to try a different version you will need to revert to your original patch.fat and patch.dat by deleting the newly created ones and using your backed-up original ones.

3. Next extract this archive to an EMPTY/NEW folder somewhere.

4. Next we need to open "patch.fat" with a viewer such as the one included.

Go to where you extracted this archive then open the "tools_needed" folder and run "Gibbed.FarCry2.ArchiveViewer.exe"

5. Open the original "patch.fat" file you backed up earlier.

6. After opening, click on the "Save All" button up top.

Navigate to where you extracted this archive and select the folder for the version you want

- bloodmod_150 for 150% + persistent bullet holes

- bloodmod_200 for 200% + persistent bullet holes

- bloodmod_persistence_only to just add persistence for bullet holes (no modification to blood spurts)

Click OK. The files will be extracted to that versions folder.

7. Again, go to where you extracted this archive and run the batch file for the version you chose (build_150.bat for 150%, etc...).

You should now see a new "patch.fat" and "patch.dat" file appear beside this batch file.

8. Copy the new "patch.fat" and "patch.dat" file into your Far Cry 2 "Data_win32" folder thus overwritting the old ones.

9. IMPORTANT NOTE - If you decide to try a different version be sure to revert back to your original "patch.fat" and "patch.dat" by deleting the newly created ones and using your backed-up original ones.

10. *****Recommended*****

The following values are recommended to be increased because bullet holes will be lasting longer so if someone else gets shot then you might not see holes in who u shoot.

Create a config.txt file in your Far Cry 2 profile directory (usually "My Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\", which contains the "GamerProfile.xml" file)

Add the following 2 lines to it... if you have a high end PC you can increase the values even more.

gfx_MaxDecalCount 2000

gfx_MaxDecalCountPerType 1000

Add the following to the Far Cry 2 command line (With Steam set Far Cry 2's launch options)

-exec config.txt
