Description:

FFVIII Crystal is a gameplay mod designed to give a new way to play Final Fantasy VIII by making each playable character more distinct, strengthening and redesigning enemies, and adding new content.

Installation:

Installation:

1. Download Demaster, located here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19432.0

2. Allow Demaster to unpack the game files. It will create a folder in the FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered folder called DEMASTER_EXP.

3. Open the FFVIII Crystal Remastered Version folder. Merge the included data folder with the data folder inside of DEMASTER_EXP.

4. Create a backup of the FFVIII_EFIGS.dll file located in the FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered folder.

5. Apply the included FFVIII_EFIGS.ips patch to FFVIII_EFIGS.dll using a program such as Lunar IPS (http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/index.html) or online patchers such as https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ and https://hack64.net/tools/patcher.php.

6. (Optional) Merge the included textures folder with the textures folder inside of DEMASTER_EXP if you'd like to use the custom title screen.

Be sure to start a new save file.

Methods of verifying installation:

1)init.out - Upon starting a new game, your inventory should be:

Potion x3

Phoenix Down x3

Antidote x3

Eye Drops x2

Tent x1

2)kernel.bin - Potions should heal for 400 HP instead of 300.

3)shop.bin - Balamb Shop won't sell Hi-Potions.

4)price.bin - Phoenix Downs will cost 2000 gil.

5) Field.fs - After naming Squall at the start of the game, you should be prompted to name Bahamut.

6) Battle.fs - Bombs will cast Berserk; Ifrit will be accompanied by a Buel.
