Please only install this mod if you have already beaten the 'true' ending for the game, and thus have already explored most of the rooms. Some of these rooms have the capability of spoiling content or could be used for very inefficient cheating.

Patch was made for Hollow Knight 1.0.3.7. It *might* be applicable to newer versions of the game. Not a guarantee, as the code might change enough for the patch to not apply, or scenes may be changed, updated, removed etc.

This mod allows the player to visit unused rooms, so it is quite possible those rooms would be removed or changed in later versions.

HOW TO INSTALL:

Backup C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll (or wherever your installation is) somewhere, perhaps copy it to Assembly-CSharp_original.dll.

If you are concerned with keeping your save files untouched, back those up as well, located in C:\Users\<User>\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\ on Windows.

Use DeltaPatcherLite to apply the cutContentMod_v1.0.xdelta patch to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll.

HOW TO USE:

Press the 'F2' key to cycle through the following unused scenes:

Abyss_07 ,317,left1 ,Unfinished hallway leading to a bench room remniniscent of Hornet. Meant to connect to Abyss_05 (White Palace).

Dream_Guardian ,369,door_dreamReturn,Test dream guardian room

RestingGrounds_11,230,left1 ,Moth statues in a cave setting replaced by the small section in the Glade. Even has outcropping for dream nailing the one statue.

Fungus1_33 ,147,left1 ,Large unpopulated caverns.

Fungus3_29 ,201,right1 ,Untextured. But intereseting dead-end layout.

Fungus3_31 ,203,top1 ,Dead end cavern room.

Fungus3_45 ,209,left1 ,Large untextured dead-end room. Connects to Fungus 3_05.

Fungus3_46 ,210,right1 ,Untextured. Bad entrance.

Mines_12 ,241,right1 ,Connects to Mines_11. Odd texture set for mines. Somewhat unfinished dead-end room.

Mines_14 ,243,right1 ,Place with some unfinished textures. Connects Mines_24 on right. Mines_20 on left.

Room_church ,020,right1 ,Very simple test room.

Town ,007,top1 ,Dirtmouth. So you have an easy escape route.

Additonally patch enables 'debug buttons' used by the developers.

Press the 'End'/'Quote' key to show the scene name and other information in the upper right-hand corner. Press the 'Home'/'Semicolon' key for additonal information such as scene loading time.

Pressing F2 too quickly might result in the player accidentally leaving the next scene and causing issues.

Some of the rooms connect to other existing rooms gracefully, others will break the game and you have to Alt-F4 out. But it is interesting to note what the rooms were meant to connect to.

Abyss_07 has a working bench, which is one reason why Town (Dirtmouth) is on the cycle list. If you save at that bench without this mod, you would not be able to escape the room. You can exit left to the Palace grounds, but can't get through the wall and exiting right breaks spawning for the rest of the session.

Many of the rooms just have black, untextured edges. With the exception of Abyss_07, none have interactable items (Abyss_07 has a working bench).

Fungus3_46 has a bad 'gate' and therefore the player spawns underneath the room.

Saving at a bench after visting these rooms will have a minor affect on your save file, mainly evidence that you did somehow visit these rooms.
