Portal QoL aims to smooth out some of the rough edges left on Portal throughout the years by reintroducing more sounds and textures, as well as updates to previously unused or unfinished material settings. In total, over 70 materials have been given new or unused reflections, and the viewmodel and playermodel have received updates as well.

NEW WITH QUALITY OF LIFE VERSION 2.0:

- created 24 new custom normal maps for numerous common models, including the turrets, portal gun, doors, buttons, cubes, and more

- New, High Definition model for the cube dropper

- Replaced the remade arm texture with the original (found in Portal 2's files)

- created a new model for the sphere, including a higher definition collision model

- re implemented a missing Glados voice line on Escape_01

- added the entire Xbox Live Arcade "Still Alive" campaign, including working level transitions and challenge chambers, as an optional test track found in Chamber 19.

Installation

-- NOTE: IF YOU ARE ON LINUX, ALL FOLDERS HAVE TO BE LOWERCASE!

THIS MAY BE NECESSARY TO RUN ON THE STEAM DECK, SO BE SURE TO CHECK CASE IF THE MOD DOESN'T WORK! --

1. Download the correct version (Patch if you have 1.0 installed, Full if you do not)

2. Navigate to your Portal install folder (steamapps/common/Portal)

3. open your Portal custom folder, or create one if it doesn't already exist (It should be in steamapps/common/Portal/portal/custom)

4. Open the downloaded mod using your preferred unarchiver.

5. Drag and drop the "QoL V2 Full" or "QoL V2 Patch" folder into your custom folder (steamapps/common/Portal/portal/custom/QoL V2 [version])
