Resolution Patch is a mod for Space Rangers, created by StarMind.

Description:

Adds extra resolutions to the game, including:

1152x864 1680x1050

1280x768 1792x1344

1280x800 1800x1440

1280x960 1856x1392

1280x1024 1920x1080

1360x768 1920x1200

1366x768 1920x1440

1440x900 2048x768

1600x900 2048x1536

1600x1200

To play with new resolution you must run RangersNewRes.exe file, which will appear in game folder after applying this patch.

Please note: only few game modes will be resized fully - it's Planet\Station, Options, Government, Information Center, and Chat screens. Other windows and screens can't be resized without noticeable loss in quality because of pretty low quality of interface' textures

Warning: Program main window may freeze for few seconds during patch applying - it's okay.

Also note: The bigger the resolution you select, the more space on you HDD you'll need. For example, you'll need approx. 1 Gb of free disk space during applying patch at 2048x1536 px; after completing, new files will occupy about 190 Mb with compression option enabled and about 510 Mb without it.

And guys, please! Be EXTRA careful when setting resolution manually - this function is purely expiremental. You may use it only at your own risk.

Command line parameters

-no_compress - unckeck checkbox 'Compress resources'

-no_resize - unckeck checkbox 'Resize some windows'

-res=<value 0 to 18> - value from list of supported resolutions, or -res=<width>x<height> - custom resolution

if parameters is not exist, resolution will be as desktop resolution

-path "<path>" - path to game directory

-install - start install

-silent - silent install mode (only with -install)

-hide - hidden install mode in background (only with -install)

-remove - remove resolution patch

Troubleshooting

If patch doesn't installs and closes with error, try this:

1. Open game folder properties, uncheck the "Read only" checkbox, and press an OK button for applying these new setting to all subfolers and files included.

2. If previous solution didn't worked out for you, than you probably having some troubles with access right to the game folder. In this case, you can try install the game to any other folder at any other logical disk you have.
