Warcraft III: Starcraft TC is a mod for StarCraft created by Infoceptor.

IThe lost in time Warcraft III: Starcraft TC by Infoceptor is back after 20 years. Many people kept searching all this time for a way to relive the old days. That time has come. It was around the new millennium, when Infoceptor and his team created this total conversion in anticipation for Warcraft III. It was the most popular Starcraft mod and it even had a multiplayer server. They released an alpha version, an update and they would continue with a 3.0 version (it's possible that it was released briefly). But the mod's name and the fact that it would use units that they would appear in an upcoming commercial product, Warcraft 3, caught Blizzard's attention. They demanded the files to be removed by sites, so the project was abandoned in an incomplete state. The editor works (with occasional crashes), so if there are to be fixes, or new quality content and anyone needs help, make a post here and we'll see as a community if we could do something about reviving this project and share it.

nstallation instructions: 1. Broodwar is also necessary for the TC to work, patched to 1.07 (patch and patcher included). 2. Find the file patch_rt.mpq in the main Starcraft directory and rename it to patch_rtOLD.mpq (you can also back it up). The TC has a file with the same name and we want to avoid overwriting it. 3. Unzip the "Alpha v2.0.zip" file in your Starcraft directory, making sure the "use folder names" option is checked. 4. Create a folder named "Warcraft" in the starcraft\maps directory, so it should read for example, D:\games\starcraft\maps\Warcraft. Unzip the "maps" file into there. These are all the maps i could recover, maybe they are all the maps ever created for this mod. 5. Unzip the "Update v2.2.zip" file in your Starcraft directory, place the Broodwar cd in your hard drive (or mount an .iso of it) and run war3tc.V2_2.exe. Now start Broodwar and the TC will load.

Choosing the campaign will let you use the new units in the Broodwar campaign. The mod was not created for this purpose but it has its own maps. In order for you to play these maps, choose "Single Player", then "WCIII Expansion", select a profile, then "Play Custom" and choose the Warcraft folder. The maps should be in there. Make sure the option "map settings" is checked.

The TC consists of:

- 1 single player scenario

- 2 multiplayer maps (try "free for all" and add AIs for them, although they don't work well)

- 2 intro maps

- 11 Humans maps (maybe a complete campaign)

- 1 Demons map (incomplete campaign)

- 1 Orcs map (incomplete campaign)

When you want to play Starcraft again, rename the "patch_rtOLD.mpq" in its original name (step 2)

and rename in something else the "patch_rt.mpq" of WCIII TC. Every time you can switch between the TC and Starcraft by renaming these files. Read the info in the .txts.

Notes:

This was an unfinished project by enthusiasts so bugs are present:

- If you get a crash in a mission briefing, skip it.

- Building the barracks can cause a crash in 2 missions, just avoid building it.

- The humans mission 03 doesn't let you control your units.

- Regarding the Starcraft campaign with the units from the TC, the Terrans 03 mission and the Zerg 02 mission crash when the mouse moves.
