Dragon's Dogma 2, despite performance problems and controversies related to micropayments, delighted many players. The engaging combat system, open world, and occasionally unpredictable gameplay stay in your mind. Not every aspect of the title, however, can surprise in a positive way. One of the players discovered this, and now he has a significant problem.

Easy way to block side quests

Dragonsplauge is a mechanic from the first Dragon's Dogma. Back then, during the fight, the player would lose control over his pawns, but in the sequel, the situation is significantly worse. During sleep, one of the companions may go on a truly murderous expedition. Reddit user Any_Measurement1169 revealed that in his case, approximately 99% of the city of Venworth died in one night, which blocked him from accessing many side quests.

Contrary to his opinion, access to the quests wasn't blocked forever, because important NPCs can be revived using wakestones. However, collecting these stones takes a lot of time and the player may decide to throw in extra cash to buy additional wakestones for real money.

A Pawn can become infected with dragonsplague while fighting a dragon. If a large reptile grabs a character and starts speaking to them, you can be certain that you will have an infected companion.

One of the commenters mentioned the behaviors of the Pawn that indicate he has been infected with dragonsplague:

  • Complaints of headache
  • Holding their head in pain
  • Not listening to your commands
  • Pulsating red eyes
  • Grimacing face

In such a situation, it's worth turning on subtitles in the game settings, so you always notice lines suggesting dragonsplague. There is no cure for the disease itself. Players suggest eliminating the Pawns and, for the regular ones, exchanging them for new ones, while for the main one, reviving it and continuing the journey. The most crucial thing is to monitor the symptoms in order to avoid ending up with a city full of dead bodies.
