FM24 Real Names License Fix
Football Manager 2024 is out, yet some names in the game can be fake. If you want to see real names, there is a license fix that will bring them back.
Football Manager 2024 debuted just recently and was received warmly by its fans. The title is a next installment of the well-established series that is released yearly since 2004. Updated with the new tweaks and UI changes, the game now also comes with new licenses that allow it to use official names for football clubs and leagues. That doesn’t mean that you will necessarily find your favourite team, as not all licenses have been acquired due to various reasons. If you still wish to see the missing teams or you are not fond of fake stadium names in this Football Manager, there is a way to deal with it. We have a solution that will allow you to use real names in the game.
Real names in Football Manager 2024
Please bear in mind that we do not own any of the files nor we take any liability for them to work. Applying the fix requires changing game files that may render it unusable. Make sure to back up all the files that you want to change.
Some players are not happy with fake names in FM24. They can apply to stadium names, team names or leagues. It is not due to ill-will of the developers, as it can happen that acquiring licenses to use them is impossible, very hard, or simply very expensive.
There is a way to fix them and use the actual names. To do that, follow the steps below:
- Download (scroll down the site until you see blue bracket with red button labelled “Download FM24 Real Names Fix”) and extract a file containing real names fix from Passion4FM,
- Navigate to the game folder, which by default is located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2024\data\database\db\24XX (XX would indicate the latest database version),
- Once there, delete the following files:
\dbc\permanent\brazil_kits.dbc
\dbc\permanent\forbidden_names.dbc
\dbc\permanent\language\Licensing2.dbc
\edt\permanent\fake.edt
\lnc\all\fake.lnc
- Get back to the extracted files that you have previously downloaded from Passion4FM and copy all the files but readme.txt and put them in the folder below (there is no need to rename those files):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2024\data\database\db\24XX\lnc\all
That’s it, enjoy the familiar sounding names again. Keep in mind that if you are already managing any fake team, the changes will only be applied to a new game save.
