Heroes 3 With New Castle and Campaign Thanks to Horn of the Abyss
Version 1.7.0 of the Horn of the Abyss mod for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has been released. It introduces a new castle. a unique steampunk faction and an additional campaign.
Ubisoft has completely forgotten about the Might & Magic: Heroes brand - the latest, seventh part debuted in 2015. Fortunately, fans have no reasons to complain about a lack of excitement thanks to the vast modding community. We mention this because a new version of Horn of the Abyss, one of the most important mods for the iconic Heroes of Might and Magic III, has just been released.
The update is numbered 1.7.0 and brings many changes.
- A new castle has been added in the form of Factory, which features steampunk themes. There is also a wilderness-dwelling faction with unique heroes.
- A new campaign has also been introduced (this is the fourth included in Horn of the Abyss). In it, we play as a heroine named Henrietta, who, after losing her homes, gathers survivors and sets out to find a new place to settle.
- There are also seven standalone scenarios.
- An option to travel around the maps by airship has also been added.
- The mission editor has also been improved.
Horn of the Abyss - basic information
Horn of the Abyss is a powerful mod, the size of which equals official expansions. The project introduces new castles, campaigns and units. All this has been developed, remaining faithful to the original vision of the game - both in terms of atmosphere and gameplay balance.
The modification is developing at a fast pace, even faster than originally expected. After all, version 1.7.0 was originally supposed to be released only in the first quarter of the year, so its release on the last day of 2023 was a pleasant surprise.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that the mod requires either the Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death DLC or the Complete edition of the game. It will not work with Heroes of Might & Magic III HD, however.
