Like Helldivers 2, Ghost of Tsushima on PC Was Pulled From Sale in More Than 100 Countries. Partial PSN Is Still a Problem

Another exclusive PlayStation title will make its release on PC in a few days - the highly acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima in the Director's Cut version. Unfortunately, Sony is persisting in pushing for the mandatory creation of a PlayStation Network account, preventing players from over a hundred countries where this service isn't available from experiencing the adventures of Jin Sakai.

1. As reported by Sucker Punch studio, the PSN account in the PC Ghost of Tsushima will be partial. You aren't required to have it while playing in single-player mode, but it's necessary in multiplayer.
2. Even though this account is only required in multiplayer mode, Sony still withdrew the game from sale in 177 countries where the PlayStation Network isn't available (the same was with Helldivers 2). Among them are countries like Egypt, Estonia, and Latvia (you can find the full list of countries directly on Steam).
3. The situation becomes even more absurd considering that just the day before yesterday, Ghost of Tsushima for PC was available for pre-order in these "excluded" countries. People who have decided to preorder are currently receiving refunds.

So, it's unlikely that the community's victory over the Japanese giant in the case of mandatory use of PlayStation Network accounts in Helldivers 2 on PC will have an impact on Ghost of Tsushima. This example clearly demonstrates that the requirement for even partial PSN on PC remains a significant problem. This may come as a bit of a surprise, but by doing this, Sony is effectively excluding a large number of players worldwide from the game and, as a result, reducing its chances of achieving sales success.
