A co-op TPP shooter and the second installment in a series originating from 2015. Helldivers 2 has us play as the titular soldiers, defending their planet - Super Earth - from extraterrestrials. We can use an extensive arsenal to defend ourselves and to complete our objectives, operating in groups of up to 4 players.
Helldivers 2 is a cooperative shooter and a sequel to the highly acclaimed game Helldivers from 2015. It was created by the developers of the first installment of the series, namely the Arrowhead Game Studios team.
Unlike the first part of the series, in Helldivers 2 the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The gameplay focuses on exterminating hordes of enemies. We eliminate enemies by making use of an extensive arsenal, including pistols, machine guns, and flamethrowers. Furthermore, at our disposal are more deadly tools of murder. They include scattering dozens of anti-personnel mines across the battlefield, using automatic turrets, or calling in the aid of a powerful bomb. This way we can tip the scales of victory in our favor. In addition, we can use defensive equipment, such as shield generators.
Since there are many ways to eliminate enemies, it's worth taking a moment before heading into battle to adjust the soldier's gear to current needs and individual play style. As we progress, we gain access to various upgrades, which over time make us increasingly effective killing machines.
Helldivers 2 only allows for online co-op gameplay, where up to four people can play together. It is worth remembering the so-called friendly fire. If we don't want to harm our allies in the heat of battle, we must stay in constant contact with team members and coordinate our actions.
The action of Helldivers 2 is set in a science fiction universe. During the game we take on the role of the titular soldiers who fight on behalf of their planet Super Earth, going against the enemies threatening it. The goal of the heroes is not only to eliminate adversaries, but also to spread freedom, peace, and democracy throughout the hostile galaxy.
