One of key developers from The Witcher 3 team at CD Projekt RED, Damien Monnier, is now working for Dying Light creators at Techland, another Polish studio, Eurogamer found out today. As we know, Techland’s Warsaw-based studio, where Monnier is hired in, is currently working on a new IP. This unannounced title is an open-world fantasy game with strong RPG elements, single player campaign and co-op mode. This sounds like something an ex-Witcher 3 developer should be an expert at, which builds up our anticipation for this project.
Monnier worked as a senior gameplay designer while still in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt team as well as the lead designer for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, which, incidentally, is now in close beta. Prior to that the developer worked for Sony’s Evolution Studios and helped deliver such titles as MotorStorm and DriveClub. The reason for Monnier’s departure from CD Projekt RED is unknown, but it was apparently a mutual decision with no grief held by either of the sides.
