Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon is a real-time strategy created by Overmax Studio. The action of the game was set in the second century AD. Players take on the role of rulers of one of the three kingdoms fighting to take control of China. In accordance with the genre convention, the game focuses on building up the economic base and creating an army that will defeat the opponents.

The action of the game takes place in a fairytale realm called the Crossroads of Dream. The production’s mechanics combine elements of a classical roguelike RPG and a trading card game.

The story begins when a mysterious Black Knight kidnaps Nevin, a boy living in the forests of White Kingdom. The player assumes control of Gillian, the boy’s mother who attempts to pursue the knight in order to save her son. The game takes place on static, hand-drawn locations.
