Armored Core 6 Secure Even Without Denuvo
The developers of Armored Core VI have confirmed which systems the upcoming game will use to protect itself from hackers and cheaters. The 'popular' Denuvo will not be among them.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will debut at the end of this month. The game will also appear at the upcoming gamescom 2023, where FromSoftware will present more details about it. Speaking of details about the new installment of epic mecha battles, the developers recently confirmed the security features used in the game on PC.
FromSoftware is betting on two varieties of DRM
Armored Core VI's product card on Steam confirms that the game will use both Arxan and Easy Anti-Cheat. Recall that game developers use these DRM (Digital Rights Management) tools to protect their software from changes to game files.
Arxan works similarly to one of the most popular DRM tools - Denuvo, which is used in such productions as Street Fighter 6 or the upcoming PayDay 3. Easy Anti-Cheat, on the other hand, focuses on protection against cheating in online games.
Recall that Elden Ring by FromSoftware only used Easy Anti-Cheat, so the developers are ramping up the protection of their upcoming game from potential threats.
Armored Core VI will debut on August 25 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
