The third installment of the series of co-op, online action games, in which players play the role of criminals, carrying out successive daring raids. The game was created by the team at Overkill Software, i.e. the creators of the two previous parts of the cycle.
PAYDAY 3 is the continuation of a popular series of FPP co-op action games. It was once again developed by the Swedish OVERKILL Software - a team owned by Starbreeze Studios since 2012. It was published by Prime Matter, the publishing subsidiary of the German company Koch Media, also responsible for publishing games such as King's Bounty II, Final Form and Echoes of the End.
Just like in the previous installments, we play as the members of the PayDay gang - legendary criminals feared both by the police and other scoundrels. The group gained fame throughout the United States, some reports even accusing it of committing crimes in Russia.
Several years have passed since the terror the PayDay gang brought upon Washington. One day, the daring robberies suddenly ceased and the gang members vanished without a trace, enjoying a well-deserved, though premature retirement. It doesn't last long though, as soon a new emerging threat forces them back to a life of crime. The gang reunites in New York, where new challenges and new money-making opportunities await.
Playing as a legendary burglar, players must skillfully steal valuable items while avoiding and eliminating AI-controlled opponents. They must also exhibit tactical abilities, assess the current situation, the abilities of each gang member and the reliability of the plan.
As the game progresses, we earn experience needed to unlock new abilities and become more skilled in wielding firearms. Though during our heists we'll mostly seize gold, money or jewelry, we can also end up acquiring some new weapons which may prove crucial during subsequent missions.
There are many ways to approach each heist in PAYDAY 3. Players can either stay sneaky or go in hot, gunning down cops, special forces and other criminals. They can take hostages and use them to their advantage, or let them out of the seized building. It's worth keeping in mind that our decisions affect how the situation escalates.
The game supports singleplayer and online multiplayer.
PAYDAY 3 features 3D visuals, photorealistic locations, as well as character and weapon customization.
The game was available as a pre-order, which granted the player a unique in-game outfit. People who signed up for Starbreeze Nebula to stay up to date with any news regarding PAYDAY 3 and any future games have also unlocked an exclusive item - the Coulrophobia mask. Since the number of Starbreeze Nebula members is gradually growing, the creators plan to expand the number of special items exclusive to its members.
