Description (in author’s own words):

This is a very early version of an automapper for the GOG-version of SSI's Eye of the Beholder 3.

The reason why this is separated from the ASE for EOBs 1 and 2 is that EOB3 uses a different game engine and there isn't that much known about it. I don't for example know how the doors, buttons etc. are set in the the game data so currently this only shows walls and floors.

This game really isn't that good so I'm not going to spend huge amounts of time with this but there seemed to be a small demand for at least some kind of automapper for EOB3.

Only the GOG-version is officially supported.

- If you have installed EOB3 to the default folder that GOG suggests or

the GOG Galaxy folder, ASE should automatically detect the folder.

If not, set the game folder with the SET button.

- SAVED GAMES list shows save game slots with level info.

The last saved slot is automatically highlighted.

- START GAME launches the game (GOG-version).

- EDIT CHARACTERS IN SAVE FILE open the character editor even if the

game isn't running enabling to edit characters "offline".

Backup your saves before doing any editing!

Inventory editing is done by selecting an item slot, selecting a item from

the list at right and then clicking SET ITEM. You can also doubleclick on

a slot to set an item number.

There are probably errors in the item names. I used a list from a EOB3

hex editing guide.

Some items may crash the game. Some items are not visible until clicked on.

Note that items imported from EOB2 are not fixed numbers.

- You can change the current map location from PARTY LOCATION IN THIS SAVE GAME

dropdown-list. Click on the map to set party coordinates.

Click APPLY TO SAVE to apply.

- SEARCH starts the search and if it's successful the map window will be opened.

Have the game running and a save loaded. The party location and direction

has to be exactly the same as in the save game.

The search looks for the map data and party location. Sometimes several

possible party locations will be found and a dialog pops up showing a list.

Move around in the game to see which line changes accordingly and select it.

You can narrow the search address range to speed up the search.

- The map window has a popup menu which opens with right mouse button.

From the menu you can adjust the map window size, toggle docking,

start the character editor etc.

- EOB3 isn't as "fixed" in its memory allocations as were the previous titles.

The map data and party location will change at times forcing you to save the

game and make a new search.
