The Simpsons Hit and Run Restoration is a mod for The Simpsons: Hit & Run, created by Gordon CMB.

Description (in author’s own words)::

Lots of unused content hides in the game files, some of it is cut due to time restraints, and some of it was never finished. Simpsons Hit & Run has plenty of both! This modification brings almost every script, P3D file and music that was cut back into the game!

What is "The Simpsons Hit and Run: Restored"?

The answer is pretty simple: It's a modification that restores a lot of cut and hidden content!

The mod is based on several documents:

1. A revised plot script with unused mission names and ideas

2. Some of the E3 trailers and script leftovers

3. Some of the old cutscenes (Beta Homer not included :( )

4. Leaked PS2 prototype

What does the mod add?

1. Dozens of mission tweaks and changes that restore their original look

2. A ton of retextures and redesigns to make the aesthetics feel better

3. Replaced car traffic with the addition of unused vehicles!

4. Redesigned character HUD icons, and, well, HUD in general

5. Bunch of sounds and music tracks that were originally supposed to play but didn't make it

And much, much more!

This mod however does not fully represent how the original game was supposed to look like as it is more of a mash-up of cut features. Also be aware that I wasn't able to bring back EVERY unused piece of code, like the unused main menu buttons, because that would require hardcodin

Instructions:

Hey there!

To install the mod you need Lucas' Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher.

1. Extract the contents anywhere on the desktop

2. Open the launcher, wait for it to load and then click "Open..." in the left bottom corner of the programm

3. In the dropdown menu click "Launcher settings"

4. Now go to the "Game" tab and click "Browse", after that - locate your Simpsons Hit and Run executable (.exe) file and click "Open"

This will link the launcher to your game copy, now you can forget about launching the game directly since the launcher is better anyway!

To install Any mod just put it’s -.lmlm file(extract it out of the archive first though) into the "Mods" folder that was downloaded alongside the launcher, and that's it! Reload the launcher and the mod will be available. Tick it and enjoy!
