1.Installation instructions:

*Extract contents of ZIP into a folder of your choice. The game is stand-alone and does not require a previous install of Carnivores Ice Age to run.

*Run TRIASSIC.exe to play.

*If there are any errors, set the compatibility of TRIASSIC.exe to Windows 98/Me.

*Under options, set the video driver to 3DFX Glide. Software and D3D are not yet supported and will not work properly.

!!!IMPORTANT!!! Do NOT update or replace the renderer patches! Carnivores Triassic uses its own unique set of patches which allow the custom AIs to work.

2.The Story:

In Carnivores 1, 2 and Dinosaur Hunter, you've explored the tropic and sub-arctic regions of the planet FMM-UV32, where thick forests and jungles grow teeming with dinosaurs. In Carnivores Ice Age you headed up north, exploring the icy taigas of the arctic in search for prehistoric mammals...

Now, it's time for you to move on south- just recently, DinoHunt Corporation's probes have discovered new lands, down below the equator, dominated by arid deserts, dry savannas and steaming megavolcanoes, among others- and inhabited by synapsids, basal archosaurs and primitive dinosaurs. The new region, aptly dubbed "the Triassic Sector", is now being opened exclusively to the most experienced hunters, with the promise of hunting the ultimate carnivore: Megalosaurus.

3.1.Animals:

------------

*Peteinosaurus- flying ambient.

*Lystrosaurus- ambient.

*Daemonosaurus- ambient.

*Edaphosaurus- huntable. Docile herbivore that attacks only when cornered.

*Lotosaurus- huntable. Aggressive herbivore.

*Coelophysis- huntable. Small, fast and deadly carnivore.

*Placerias- huntable. Very aggressive herbivore.

*Hererrasaurus- huntable. Medium-sized carnivore.

*Plateosaurus- huntable. Fast bipedal herbivore, dangerous when wounded.

*Postosuchus- huntable. Fast quadrupedal carnivore, very dangerous.

*Liliensternus- huntable. Large bipedal carnivore with raptor-like aggression.

*Megalosaurus- huntable. Giant carnivore, extremely dangerous.

*Bonus 10th animal- huntable. You'll have to unlock it to see for yourself!

3.2.Maps:

---------

*Panerimos- the first island discovered in the southern hemisphere, and the starting point of your tour. This island has a typical Triassic environment: dunes, dry lakes, a mountain, and a few oases.

*Mfuto Island- a beautiful, but tricky savanna map, broken by waterways, mountains and strange geological formations not unlike those of Basmachee Rocks.

*Tatem Wastes- a large, inland desert map, surrounded by mountains in almost every direction, and contains a large salt flat and salt lake.

*Dory Oasis- a large "island" of lush vegetation amidst a "sea" of sand. The oasis is centred around a huge volcano, and seems to have been inhabited by a long-gone civilization.

*Vertigo Range- close to the planet's antarctic circle, this once lush area has fallen victim to pollution caused by illegal dumping of toxic waste.

*Hell Island- a very hostile environment located inside an active megavolcano. Only the strongest survive here. The version included in this release is incomplete, so many parts of the island are still empty.

*Greenshire- a more comfortable hunting zone for those who can afford it. No hazards whatsoever.

*8th map- a mystery. You'll have to unlock it to see for yourself!

*Trophy Room- currently uses a retextured standard trophy room. More features may be added in future versions.

3.3.Weapons:

------------

*USP - replaces the standard pistol. More ammo, good for beginners.

*C-10 Gauge - a custom-built shotgun with leopard-camo texture. Fairly strong.

*Spas-15 - a more powerful, medium-ranged shotgun.

*.454 Revolver - based on the Magnum model, but slightly stronger. Good for beginners.

*FN FAL - renamed from SKS, as it does not resemble a real life SKS.

*LR300 - an automatic assault rifle. Expert only.

*M40A3 - a powerful sniper rifle that can kill most animals with one bullet.

*G-LAR - a very expensive, gold-coated lever action rifle.

5.Known Issues:

---------------

*The 10th animal will only function as intended in 3DFX Glide video mode.

*The 10th animal cannot be tranquilized. Trying to tranquilize it will crash the game.

*Liliensternus and Megalosaurus will only function as intended in 3DFX Glide video mode.

*Liliensternus, Plateosaurus and Placerias kill animations are slightly buggy.

*The 10th animal and DLC assets lack their own menu pictures and call icons.

*Supply ship and backup textures do not display properly.
