Butcher's Summit is a free singleplayer FPS game by TrenchWork. The project is a prequel to a much more ambitious production titled Trench Foot.

Description:

The game takes us into an original universe that combines futuristic elements with a dieselpunk atmosphere and Cthulhu mythology.

Butcher’s Summit takes place in 1047 CE (Cannonicate Established), decades after CountryCide and years before Chapter 1 of Trench Foot. The once very human rebellion against the Exousians has been consumed by its otherworldly allies and now, terrifying monstrosities march side by side with the insurgents into the loyalist heartlands. Horror grips the hearts of the loyalists as they are outflanked and broken again and again by an enemy that always seems to be one step ahead of them.

We take on the role of Brother Cloten, a knight in the Templar order. He and his brothers are tasked with eliminating a heretic surface-to-air battery nestled up in the Vosnian mountains. As part of a larger operation to turn the tide against the heathens, Cloten's success is vital to the future of the Theocracy. What Cloten and his fellow knights do not know is that a far darker shadow hangs over the Vosnian highlands, hiding a mystery centuries old. What the unraveling of that mystery will bring, you will have to discover for yourselves.

What you can expect from Butcher’s Summit:

1. Three playable maps with roughly two hours of action and horror.
2. Expanded lore of Cretu and an involved story that you can piece together in forms ranging from readable notes to full on cinematic cutscenes.
3. Over 40 new monsters, including mace-wielding brutes and possessed, undead-abominations.
4. Seven weapons including a pump-action Shock Cannon and placeable Land Mines.
