Dying Light 2 Enhanced Mod is a mod for Dying Light 2, created by Razed.

Dying Light 2 Enhanced is an experimental mod which aims to improve the overall visual quality of the game.

What does this mod do?

Below you can find a list of some features.

1. Adds more shadows casted by lights
2. Adds more distant fog to Clear and Cloudy weathers along with other weather tweaks
3. Adjusts the weather cycle so it rains more often at night time. Additionally the foggy, overcast and storm weathers will have a higher chance of occurring (Will unlock once you get to the second map)
4. Increases level of detail / draw distance for trees, shadows and other objects
5. Increases zombie / AI density around the map
6. Removes or reduces various post-processing filters such as lens flare, sky bloom, glows, streaks etc.
7. Slightly adjusts min. and max exposure values
8. Slightly adjusts contrast and saturation (No need for ReShade or NVIDIA Filters)
9. Removes excessive air particles such as falling leaves, newspapers, glowing fireflies etc. but keeps some effects as well
10. Attempts to unlock and use various graphical settings which may or may not work
11. Various miscellaneous tweaks

How to Install

First download and extract the zip file. Then select a version of your choice. I recommend the version with higher draw distance, but if you have pop-in issues with that version then just use the version with normal draw distance.

Next,copy 'data6.pak' to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\ph\source"

Now boot up Dying Light 2 and enjoy!

Note: For some reason the LODs fix in the higher draw distance version only works for some people. I have not figured out why despite spending numerous hours attempting to resolve the issue.

Dev Notes

Thanks for checking out this mod. I'm still trying to work on improving it.

There are a lot of core issues with the vanilla game that I hope Techland will aim to fix and improve in future patches. One big issue that I have noticed is that zombie meshes stop rendering properly after a certain distance. That's why you see teal colored zombies really far away on the map. I have not found a way to fix this yet. Flickering shadows and bad LODs are all major issues in the vanilla game as well.

Lack of flashlight shadows are another major issue. I did find a way to enable these but the spot light itself is positioned above and behind the player when using the flashlight. This means if you enable flashlight shadows and use the flashlight then you will see the player's shadow being casted at all times. The shadow follows the camera as well. This means if you look at the ceiling or on the ground then you will see Aiden's shadow move with the camera. It's really buggy so I left it disabled. Waiting on Techland to address an official fix.

Let's see what gets fixed or implemented in the future. I will try to update this mod when I have time.
