The project is a fan remake of the Japanese RPG Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It was a spin-off of Square Enix's popular series, which was released in 1992 for the 16-bit SNES console.

The game is a recreation from scratch, using all new graphics, design and ideas to make Mystic Quest Remastered more fitting with today's generation of gaming.

The developer have tried to stay as faithful as possible to the original game as possible, but, there are some very welcome changes to the gameplay:

1. Your characters learn abilities based on their level.
2. Some suprise, new locations along with the original dungeons, faithfully recreated to match.
3. The two character limit is no more – you can now have up to four characters (or one guest character) in the party at one time.
4. You can now fully customize every character, including their equipment and accessories.
