A Hard Mode for Mafia 1! This mod gives a Mafia fan, such as yourself, a set of brand new challenges across all 20 missions, along with Lucas Berthone and Free Ride Extreme. For a skilled Mafioso, this isn't insanely difficult, however it does make for a refreshing playthrough with these new (often subtle) additions, so if you're looking for an excuse to replay the game, this is it!

Some enemies have better weapons, better shooting skill or more health, Paulie and Sam can now be arrested, the player can now carry only 3 clips/magazines per weapon, there are stricter time limits and watch out for civilians - if they die, it's on you! The mod adds a lot of restrictions to the game, many of them are hidden, waiting for you to discover them.

Needless to say, this mod is not speedrun-friendly, if there is a known path to skip long parts of gameplay, it is no longer the case here. There are challenges specifically designed for every mission - for example in "Fairplay" there are cops at night and the racecar has a damaged engine, in "The Whore" you have to actually search the hotel as Michelle's door location is random, guards in "Visiting Rich People" can hear you sneaking behind them and much more!

The mod is trying to make the game a bit more realistic, immersive and slightly tougher to beat! It was inspired by the great GTA III Toughened Mod (made by Lighnat0r and Eidgod). I tried to replicate the same concept for Mafia, however with a realistic twist that fits the game style. If you find the missions too easy, check out Free Ride Extreme with cops for a real challenge!

The mod works with all languages available on Steam and GOG.
