Risen FPS and aspect ratio fix is a mod for Risen, created by KonradAr.

Description:

This one decade old game runs all too well on a modern computer, even on integrated graphics. The result of the game running too fast is too much thunder during storms and problems with the physics of the character in the game. Either your character disappears when trying to climb on ledges, or stops in mid-air when falling from heights.

The game settings cannot detect the resolution for 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratio monitors. The higher the monitor resolution, the higher the mouse sensitivity. A slight movement of the mouse and the character makes a full rotation around himself.

During the loading screen there are stretched images, in 4:3 format.

For quick saves, the F8 key is used, which is right next to the F9 key, and it's easy to make a mistake.

For all these problems comes “Risen FPS and aspect ratio fix”:

1. the bugs with climbing and stumbling in the air are removed by the FPS limiter
2. the game resolution is set according to the specification of your monitor
3. lower mouse sensitivity
4. the F5 key is used for quick save, as in most modern games, instead of F8
5. new loading screen images in two variants, 16:9 and 21:9
