Brothers in Arms - TW3 Bug Fix and Restored Content Collection (BIA) is a collection of 5,759 bug fixes and restored content for The Witcher 3, spanning the entire campaign and both expansion packs. The fixes consist of a variety of categories and types, including: quest fixes, dialogue fixes, restoring of hidden / cut content, gameplay fixes, journal fixes, graphical issues, placement fixes and more. As of version 3.0, also titled the Ultimate Edition, the mod has been re-built from scratch using the official game editor REDkit and brings hundreds of improvements over already existing fixes in the original mod and over a thousand completely new fixes and restored content.

Here is quick overview of what's included in the mod:

1. Bug Fixes/Improvements – 2276: This category includes every fixed bug in the game - ranging from a wide a variety of issues. Quests, scenes, NPCs, their action points and storyphases, gameplay and the world around you. From tiniest issues to bugs that can ruin your immersion or even break your game in very rare cases. We tried to fix them all. Please consult the full changelog below to see the exact list.
2. Placement Fixes – 2064: Includes fixes for thousands of NPCs and objects that are either sinking into the ground, levitating above it or clipping into objects.
3. Restored Books/Documents – 145: Many documents can be found in the game files not obtainable in the game due to a lack of time for CDPR to implement them properly or because of bugs. All such documents were found and restored and you will find them in locations that make sense - in the world, in shops, given to you, etc.
4. Restored Glossary Entries – 48: There is an entire glossary section hidden in the game files as well (similar to W1 and W2), fully translated in every language, written from the perspective of Dandelion just like character glossary and bestiary. It is restored. The entries will be obtained as you play the game, either by reading books or doing certain tasks. The glossary entries will appear under the Books Panel and you have to turn this option On in the menu first.
5. Restored Journal Entries/Objective – 183: Incredible number of quest objectives and descriptions are written by CDPR, but never activated in game. Restored all such entries that made sense.
6. Restored Item Descriptions – 8: A lot of inventory items in the game have their tooltip description written by CDPR, but never enabled in game. We will restore every such tooltip. This category will be expanded in the future.
7. Restored NPCs/Characters – 123: This category includes cut or bugged NPCs that do not spawn in the game for one reason or another. These range from world NPCs tied to gameplay conversations or just being part of the world to full-blown characters with unique names and full dialogues that you can engage in. This category will also be expanded in the future, as there are still many of these NPCs to be found in the files.
8. Restored Dialogue – 785: Absolutely insane amount of dialogue was written for this game and hundreds of lines can never be heard, either due to them being cut by CDPR for various reasons, or because of a wide variety of bugs. We are looking to restore every such line, that makes sense in the current game's context. This category can never be finished, as there are always more and more to be found. The total number here includes one-liners, gameplay lines, full dialogues with NPCs, and even some full cutscenes.
9. Restored Items/Appearances – 127: This category includes restored icons for items (usual case is they use generic icons, when they have a unique icon made by CDPR just lying in game files). Also includes restored appearances for NPCs.

HOW TO INTALL

Extract the contents of the archive to your The Witcher 3 installation directory.

-----Verify that modBrothersInArms and mod_sharedutils_menudescriptors folders are in The Witcher\mods folder.

-----Verify that dlcBrothersInArms1, dlcBrothersInArms2 and dlcBrothersInArms3 folders in The Witcher 3\dlc folder.

-----Verify that BrothersInArms.xml file is in The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc folder.

Open this folder, find dx11filelist.txt and dx12filelist.txt files and add this line to the file: BrothersInArms.xml;

Alternatively install and run Menu Filelist Updater and it will add required lines to these files for you.

Check for conflicts with the Script Merger?. Merge if necessary.

Utilizes shared utils menu descriptors module by Aeltoth, to display menu descriptions in the mod menu while in-game.

Upon first launch of the game with the mod installed, you will get a welcome message that also serves as a check if you installed the mod correctly. If you don't see this message, it means you did something wrong, quit the game immediately and verify installation steps.

This mod requires starting a new playthrough.

It is not recommended to uninstall this mod mid-playthrough. The mod runs many quest phases in the background to fix bugs and restore content and removing them in the middle of the playthrough can lead to unexpected behavior.
