Crash Fix is a mod for Tropico (the one from 2001), built on solutions by Elisha Riedlinger
Description:
The mod fixes a bug that caused graphical distortions and often even game crashes when using hardware rendering.
Instructions
Download the mod and extract the archive.
Open the extracted folder and copy the dxwrapper.dll, dxwrapper.ini, and Stub\ddraw.dll files.
Paste the files into <path-to-game>.
Edit dxwrapper.ini from <path-to-game>.
Under the [Compatibility] section, set EnableDdrawWrapper to 1.
Under the [ddraw] section, set DdrawFixByteAlignment to 1.
If using a multi-monitor setup, to prevent launch issues, under the [Compatibility] section, set Dd7to9 to 1.
Save and close the file.
Run the game. Change the 3D Mode to "Hardware" after loading a game.
