The Epic Games offensive against Steam continues. The company managed to win another exclusive title. It is Shakedown: Hawaii, a continuation of 2012 Retro City Rampage. As we can read in an official announcement, the PC version of the game is expected to be released this spring only in Epic Games Store. We will play as the protagonist of the previous installment, who is currently enjoying a gangster's retirement and warmubg his old bones on a Hawaiian beach. Dramatic events will force him to return to the path of crime.
It is hard to say exactly what kind of contract has been signed. Epic Games and Vblank Entertainment are silent on this issue. It is possible that we are only dealing with temporary exclusivity and Shakedown: Hawaii will go to Steam, GOG and other distribution platforms after a while. It's worth mentioning that the game will also be released on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita at a later date.
The Epic Games Store continues its exclusive game tactics. Consumers, who are at the mercy of one seller, do not always take kindly to such behavior. Such a problem was faced by players who wanted to play Metro Exodus on PC. When Epic Games Store's temporary exclusivity news broke out on the web, it triggered a heated discussion among the fans.
