Bellwright has piqued interest of many with the mix of action RPG and open world survival and its storyline, where you aim to liberate villages and cities from a tyrant as a resistance leader. Expectations are high for the Early Access launch scheduled on April 23rd, not just for PC players. Many fans would like to see Bellwright on consoles, as well. Will it be possible to play the game on PS4, PS5 or Xbox? Find out what the developers had to say about it in this article.
Bellwright – Console (PS4, PS5, Xbox) Release
Bellwright transports you to a setting inspired by medieval Europe, to a kingdom under the rule of a tyrant who took over after the prince’s death. The twist? It’s the player who gets framed for the killing of the previous monarch, and has to run from the law and evade assasins. After one such attempt on their life, the main character unearths information that leads them back to their country, to fight back against the tyrannical ruler and investigate the circumstances of the prince’s passing.
Players on various platforms are curious about the storyline, as well as the combination of Action RPG and open world survival, building and army management promised by Bellwright. The Early Access release for PC is in just about a day from writing of this article, but what about other devices?
When asked about console releases on the official Discord of the game, one of the developers has said the following:
There are no formal plans right now. EA launch will be PC only. We’re open to consoles down the road.
Most likely, whether Bellwright would receive a PS4, PS5 or Xbox release will depend on the success of the game in Early Access. Depending on the response it receives, a console port for Bellwright might become reality, but nothing is set in stone.
