Alien Swarm

Alien Swarm, on the other hand, is a production that combines the new with the old. On the one hand, there are gameplay patterns popularized by the Alien Breed series. The action is seen from a top-down perspective, and the fun boils down to exploring maps and eliminating various alien monsters. At the same time, the controls utilize a system known from first-person shooters - we have mouse targeting, the graphics are fully three–dimensional, and dynamic lighting significantly affects the gameplay.

In addition, the whole is designed for a co-op mode for up to four people, and it is by far one of the best co-op productions available on PCs today. Diversity is also a big advantage of the title. There are eight characters belonging to four classes to choose from, and there are more than forty types of weapons available. Plus, there are a lot of fan modifications available.

Renegade X

Command & Conquer: Renegade turned out to be an underrated but unique production. Unfortunately, the bankruptcy of Westwood Studios meant that the potential of this title was never fully explored. Eventually, fans lost patience, rolled up their sleeves, and decided to develop a sequel themselves. The result is Renegade X.

The production is an online action game in which multiplayer battles are fought between the NOD and GDI factions. Each side has its own base – with individual buildings providing a specific advantage. If destroyed, these bonuses disappear. The maps are large, which is important because we spend a lot of time in the cockpits of various vehicles and other combat machines. The project started out as a pure remake of the original, but then the authors made many improvements that modernized the gameplay while retaining all the fun of the original Command & Conquer: Renegade. The game is still being developed, although new updates don't come that often. At the moment of writing this text, the last one appeared in May 2020.
