Release Date: August 11, 2026
A spy FPS largely inspired by GoldenEye 007 and other console shooters from the late 1990s. Agent 64: Spies Never Die offers features not usually known in PC shooters, like having an automated aiming system for easier enemy kills or the option to play splitscreen multiplayer.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is a retro-style first-person shooter, which is the debut project of the independent studio Replicant D6. The game was developed as a spiritual heir to the iconic GoldenEye 007 from the Nintendo 64 console.
The script was inspired by spy films and novels, especially the adventures of James Bond. We step into the shoes of John Walter, the legendary spy codenamed Agent 64. Once again, the task of saving the world from the villains and their schemes will rest on his shoulders.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is an FPS game, so the gameplay consists mainly of eliminating numerous enemies in first-person perspective (FPP) gunfights. However, the combat mechanics greatly differ from typical PC games of this genre. Aiming is largely automated - just point the crosshair near the enemy and the game will place it on his silhouette. It recreates the style of gameplay that dominated console FPS games in the late 90s, while at the same time providing fresh experiences to the players.
Each mission in the campaign offers great freedom to explore the location and to complete various objectives, many of which are optional. In addition to eliminating enemies using a rich arsenal of firearms, we also have to hack terminals, steal secret plans, or free hostages.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die offers a story campaign that can be played alone or in cooperation mode. There are also options to compete with other players. Interestingly, both co-op and PvP take place on a split screen, and up to four people can play at the same time.
Agent 64: Spies Never Die combines angular, low quality characters and locations with modern visual effects, creating a kind of idealized vision of console FPS games from the late 1990s.

Game Ratings for Agent 64: Spies Never Die Video Game.
8Bit/Digi: 9 / 10 by Stan Rezaee
Agent 64: Spies Never Die not only recreates the experience of playing GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark on the N64, but it is a reminder of why they are among the best games of all time.
Maximum Utmost: 5 / 10 by Zoey Handley
Agent 64 is successful in replicating a lot of the look, feel, and swagger of Goldeneye, but when it comes to putting it into practice, at least when it comes to singleplayer, it doesn’t come close. And for me, the fact that the actual mission design falls so short made all of its successes feel superficial, even if, on paper, it succeeds more than it fails. You can take from that what you want. Maybe if multiplayer is what you’re showing up for, it will scratch the itch. I’d rather just disavow any knowledge of Agent 64.
Gameffine: 77 / 100 by Jay Krishnan
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is a faithful (a bit too much) homage to GoldenEye 007. It expects you to have nostalgic sentiments for that era as well as its sensibilities. Thus, it’s hard to recommend Agent 64 to just anyone. But if you were lucky enough to own a Nintendo 64 and blessed with GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, then you are Agent 64’s target audience.
