Anna is a fully three-dimensional adventure game and the debut project of an independent Italian studio Dreampainters.

The game is set in the Italian Alps, near an old sawmill close to the village of Champoluc. We play as a man plagued by nightmares associated with this place, his objective being to uncover the secrets of the building, haunted by the titular Anna - a poltergeist of sorts. The story is ambiguous and vague, enhancing the game's unique, gloomy atmosphere. Interestingly, the script was inspired by old legends told to Dreampainters employees by local villagers.

Anna is a first-person point-and-click game, its gameplay mostly revolving around exploring the area around the sawmill and solving puzzles. Some items found inside the sawmill are interactable and can be picked up or used to progress the story. There are four major locations to explore, all of which maintain the horror atmosphere and change as the story progresses. Puzzles are quite challenging, often referring to dark rituals and containing recurring symbols. The game is pretty short, though multiple endings can make up for it - there are three of them, depending on the choices we make at certain points in the game.
