The Pedabouche Castle for years proudly presented itself against the backdrop of a picturesque valley. Unfortunately, since he was taken over by the only heir to the throne, Baron Lazarus, the neighborhood has become infamous. All through the wizardly practices of the ruler, vilely exploiting his unpleasant affliction - a nobleman turned into a werewolf and terrorized the inhabitants of the valley. In the last years of his life, Lazarus has plundered a lot of valuables, which he hid from death in the darkest corners of the castle dungeons.

Two hundred years have passed since those events. Despite such a long time, nobody had the courage to explore the palace chambers in search of treasures. The spirit of the deceased Baron still existed in the fortress, which threatened the lives of all daredevils ready to chase for candles. All but... me.

My name is Baldric and I am the rightful heir to Pedabouche Castle and the last representative of a disgraceful family. So far I have been leading a poor life, robbing graves. I know that this is not a reason to be proud, but thanks to this occupation I gained a lot of valuable skills that will be useful while exploring the dungeons here. However, I realize that the spirit of Lazarus is still deadly. That's why I need you, dear player, to help me bypass all the traps in the catacombs. We will divide the acquired treasures half into halves....

Baron Baldric: A Grave Adventure is an arcade game that was originally released on Commodore Amiga computers and later converted to PC. The main task of the title character is to penetrate the ten levels of the dungeons of Pedabouche Castle and find a total of one hundred treasures (ten for each stage). Once you have acquired the required number of valuables, you should locate the transition to the next dungeon and continue your search.

There is only one opponent in the game - the spirit of Lazarus. Every contact with the baron causes the hero to lose energy and can lead to his death. In a few initial stages, your ancestor will move along a certain track to predict his movements. It's only at the end of the struggle that Lazarus will start the chase, forcing you to develop new, direct forms of defense. One of them may be to use the services of Rosie - an angel, who also stays in the castle. Because it protects the player from the werewolf attack, it is good to stay close to the player.

All the labyrinths in the game contain a lot of traps, which can immediately destroy the main character. It is worth tapping all the columns and statues with a stick - they often reveal previously inaccessible passages. The player has to replenish food on an ongoing basis (fortunately there are quite a lot of food in the corridors of the castle) and activate the lamps with the help of the flints found. The starvation of Baldric leads to death, just like moving in Egyptian darkness. An approximate map may help you to explore the next rooms, but it does not present such a detailed plan of the underground.

Baron Baldric: A Grave Adventure offers a pleasurable visual setting that puts the funny animation of the infirm old man in the foreground. The game is also accompanied by grotesque music, which changes depending on whether the ghosts of Lazarus or Rosa appeared in the area. The Animation F/X program is a nice introduction to Baldric's subsequent struggles (this time, however, focused more on the efforts of the grey cells), which in 1994 appeared under the name Mystic Towers.
