Big Bash Boom is an arcade cricket simulator aimed at more casual fans of this sport. The developer of the title is Big Ant Studios, which has similar but more realistic sports titles such as Don Bradman Cricket 17 or Ashes Cricket. Big Bash Boom is licensed by two genuine Australian cricket leagues, the male KFC Big Bash League (BBL) and the female Rebel Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). In the game appear images and names of players and all teams participating in their games.
Big Bash Boom uses standard cricket counters used by Australian players. The fun is diversified, however, by the introduction of comic and interesting power-ups, which affect the performance of the competitors. Players reflect the ball using the analog knob, and choose the strength and type of assassination by pressing one of the four dedicated buttons. With similar simplicity, the creators approached the way of throws and other activities on the pitch. The game is therefore addressed to beginner fans of virtual cricket and is great for playing in the family, which has little in common with this sport.
Big Bash Boomallows for multi-person entertainment. In addition to a single match, the title also offers the opportunity to play in tournament mode, which simulates league matches.
Graphic design of Big Bash Boom combines realistic surroundings and lighting with character models that have been made in an exaggerated and comic way. This style is also emphasized by various colourful and spectacular animations.
