The great popularity of Boulder Dash meant that First Star Software, Inc. decided to develop a Rockford's Revenge sequel in 1985.

Like its predecessor, the game was developed entirely by Peter Liepa. It wasn't too difficult, as Boulder Dash II: Rockford's Revenge uses the same visual setting, and there are very few implemented novelties. The most important change in relation to the original is the introduction of more opponents and a maze devastating maze. Sixteen premiere stages require a lot of attention from the player. Due to the very high level of difficulty, the program is directed rather to those users who are familiar with the first edition of Boulder Dash. From the foreground you have to use the creatures to destroy a closed chamber on all sides, which can cause a lot of trouble for beginners.

The rules of the game have not changed. We still have to find a certain number of diamonds and then use the exit located on the board. Drilling corridors is not facilitated by limited time (the higher the level of difficulty, the less time we have), as well as numerous traps in the form of boulders. If one of the latter falls on our hero's head, we lose one of the additional "live" and we repeat the whole game from the beginning....

Boulder Dash works in low resolution mode, using only four colors. Despite the fact that the visual setting is not the strongest point of the program, the graphics are legible - so no one should have any problems in exploring the underground. The game does not support music cards and the sound is limited to Speaker's PC pops.
