Bow to Blood is an action game featuring mechanics taken from simulation games. The game was developed by Tribetoy studios.

Story

Bow to Blood takes the players to a sci-fi universe, in which aerial battles - taking place in special arenas - are a popular form of entertainment. The players control the captain of one of the ships and slowly climb in the ranks of the aerial gladiators.

Mechanics

The game is played from the first-person-perspective (FPP). During gameplay, players spend their time at the captain’s deck and have direct control over the actions of the ship. The ship is managed through the use of a control panel, it allows to steer the ship and manage energy by allocating it to where it’s most needed (it can be allocated to the engines, shields, weaponry, and various sensors). Besides that, we are in charge of managing a group of drones, which can be used in battle against weaker enemies or order them to manage the subsystems of the ship.

Over the course of the game, we take part randomly generated encounters based on different rules. Besides fighting for our lives (against other similar ships, various adversaries, and huge bosses), players can also take part – among other things – in fast-paced races. There, we face off against other captains, who all have their own personalities and motivations. We don’t need to treat them as competitors from the start. Depending on what’s needed we can form alliances and share our loot… or we can simply betray our allies and take everything for ourselves at the last moment.

The game doesn’t leave us hanging when it comes to weaponry. The deck has all sorts of weapons like cannons on the sides of the ship and a laser ray mounted at the front, there’s also a gun, which can be used to deal with weaker enemies in a more personal manner. The number of available weapons increases as the game progresses; conquering enemies in consecutive battles gives us both tangible rewards and the love of the crowds, which in turn draw the attention of sponsors, who are willing to invest in our venture.

Technical aspects

Bow to Blood features colorful and cartoonish 3D graphics resembling the sci-fi style of the 70s. The game requires VR goggles to run.
